Welcome to the 2017 ACHE-SETC 5 th Annual Healthcare Leadership Conference Thank you for registering for this year’s conference. For those of you who may continue to recover from the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey our hearts go out to you. We hope that this year’s ACHE-SETC Healthcare Leadership Conference allows you, albeit for a brief time, to put aside the heartbreaking scenes and associated losses as result of the devastating storm and focus on your professional development. We believe all attendees should take advantage of this annual opportunity to learn from seasoned healthcare executives about innovative ways to deal with current issues and experience a comprehensive educational program that may address some of the challenges facing you in your professional life. Early in 2013, ACHE-SouthEastTexasChapter and the Educational Foundation of the SouthEastTexasChapter joined forces to develop an annual conference that would offer cutting-edge educational programs and provide ACHE members an opportunity to earn 12 hours of ACHE Face-to-Face CEUs at an affordable price. On behalf of the Chapter and Foundation leadership, we are honored that you chose to join your professional colleagues in attending this year’s streamlined conference. Much effort in planning this year’s event, in spite of the Harvey episode, has been dedicated to ensure you will enjoy the educational sessions and learning about and understanding best practices that may help you maximize your effectiveness, enhance your skills, and provide the results you hope to achieve. During the conference we encourage you to take advantage of expanding your skill set, building and strengthening your relationships with peers, and collect new ways of thinking about key issues facing healthcare professionals in today’s world of value-based care and value-based leadership. If you are a first time visitor to Houston, you will experience the wonderful hospitality and friendliness of Houstonians. One of the most diverse cities in the United States, we hope you will feel right at home during your visit. Thank you again for being part of this year’s annual leadership conference. Please take the time to enjoy the sessions and networking opportunities, the Texas Medical Center, and Houston. You will be glad you did. We look forward to seeing you during the conference, where together we can discover ways to advance healthcare management excellence. Jeanna Bamburg Todd Caliva Jeanna L.
