The Clubs You Can Join Next Year!
By: Bethany Kinder
There are a lot of clubs that you can
join at Alice Costello! Some of the club’s are
already done for the year, but you can join
some next year. Here are some suggestions
on if you want to join a club next year.
Pal Club
Pal club is all about creativity. It is run by
Mrs. Dooley, and Mrs.Gettings! You meet at
Mrs. Dooley’s classroom first half of lunch
on Wednesdays.
When you come in find someone to
work with or you can work by
yourself.
Make a craft that is about the topic
of a book of your choice.
Then the next week you will get
either first grade or kindergarten.
You get assigned a First grader or a
kindergartener and you make the
craft with them
Newspaper club
Newspaper is all about writing! It is ran by
Mrs. Dooley, and Mrs. Gettings
Every Wednesday you meet at the
computer lab, second half of lunch.
You can create articles of your
choice and they get posted in the
school newspaper (Brooklawn Buzz)
that comes out every month.
Community service
You can help yourself and the community
by joining community service club. It is run
by Mrs. Kidd
You meet up at community service
meeting Wednesday after school
until 3:30 pm, or you can go on
Thursday at second half of lunch.
When you go, Mrs. Kidd will always
have a project for us to do, like food
or toy drives. We helped the Ronald
McDonald foundation, just by
bringing in soda can tabs. Isn't that
awesome?
You can help your community by
being in the community service club.
Those are only some of the
clubs at our school. We hope that
you join some, and help us. We are
always glad to have new members
in our clubs! HOPE YOU JOIN!
Baby Chicks
By: Sadia Islam
They're so cute! That is what you
would probably say if you saw the baby
chicks in Mrs. Dooley’s classroom! Last
year was the first year Mrs. Dooley had the
baby chicks. Last year’s baby chicks that
hatched are the parents of this year's baby
chicks. The names of the baby chicks are:
Sweet Tea, Popcorn, Margarita, and
Tequila. Popcorn was born splayed leg…
poor little chick. All of the chicks are healthy
and happy. They are having great fun with
the kindergarten and are playing when
visitors c ome. Margarita is Mrs. Golden’s
favorite little chick. Popcorn is Mrs. Dooley’s
favorite chick and many others’ favorite too.
Being in kindergarten again would have
been fun and even more exciting with
chicks. Future kindergarteners get ready
you guys are in for quite a treat!
