Proactive Approaches for Water Supply and Demand Management ( VS4 _ 11 )
Track : Sustainable Water Resources | 10:00 – 11:00 a . m .
This session will showcase creative planning approaches for groundwater and surface water management , integrated water plans , and demand forecasting .
Don ’ t Depend on Unreliable Data : Bringing Confidence to Your Lead Service Line Inventory ( VS4 _ 12 )
Track : Utility Resilience | 10:00 – 11:00 a . m .
As a result of the mandates included in the recent LCR Revisions ( LCRR ), water systems will be required to conduct and maintain LSL inventories ( LSLI ) to ensure policy compliance . However , most of the needed data is housed on disparate systems and many systems lack insight into the private service line materials . These limitations , exacerbated by the varying modifications to LCRR , can be challenging for states and municipalities .
Join 120Water , the City of Loveland , Colorado & the City of Wheeling , West Virginia as they provides expertise into :
• Tips to overcome the complexities of conducting LSL inventories
• Best practices and strategies systems can use to easily create and validate their inventory
• Examples from industry peers on how they ’ re planning for and executing their LSL inventory approach .
Diversity and Inclusion Clubhouse ( VS4 _ 14 )
Track : Networking Event | 10:00 – 11:00 a . m .
Diversity and inclusion are journeys and not just a destinations . We should remember that we ’ re all in this journey together . Step into the D & I Clubhouse and join your peers for an evening of engaging conversation and collaboration . Let ’ s make our “ water ” world a better place one conversation at a time .
Digital Twins ( VS4 _ 13 )
Track : Innovating the Future of Water | 10:15 – 11:00 a . m .
The digital twin is the evolution of systems modeling and simulation . Built on tools originally used for design analysis and system optimization , technological development in the last few decades has substantially expanded the capability of these tools to be applied in real-time providing a level of insight and control impossible before the turn of the century . The digital twin is increasingly applied to water / wastewater infrastructure in applications ranging from asset management , water quality management , rainfall analysis , and treatment plant optimization . This session will take a more detailed look at leveraging this intelligence to develop new approaches to the management of the complete water cycle from source to reclamation .
Utility Managing and Planning in a Climate of Uncertainty ( VS4 _ 15 )
Track : Water Utility Management and Leadership | 11:00 a . m . – 12:00 p . m .
Where should utilities spend their money on pipe condition assessment to achieve the highest return on investment ( ROI )? In this session presentations will cover current practices in using software , tools , and methods for conducting advanced desktop condition assessments that will yield the optimum amount of data to allow the utility to make informed decisions on where to focus rehabilitation and replacement efforts and corresponding CIP budgets .
