Water Compliance and
Enforcement: EL252 Enforcement –including criminal prosecutions for violations of the Safe Drinking Water Act
and Clean Water Act is here and likely accelerating. As high profi le events have focused the
public’s attention on water safety, states have taken notice and begun to engage in a series
of high profi le investigations into the water sector while EPA is quietly ramping up its own
enforcement efforts. In response to this trend, “Water Compliance and Enforcement” was
developed to provide operators and managers with the insights they need to carry out their
duties and operate in compliance with these laws. Well informed operators and managers
are the key to protecting the public they serve, and this course provides them both an
understanding of the enforcement landscape and practical strategies to meet that goal in an
era of increasing scrutiny.
