Sziget Festival’ s site to be transformed
Organisers of the six-day, 92,000-capacity, Sziget Festival in Hungary have announced that the 6-11 August event will feature newly created districts, including Szoho and Delta, while existing venues will be revamped, as part of a new focus on innovation and the creation of a more immersive 24 / 7 festival experience. The new Szoho district is said to be inspired by the arts-driven spirit of city districts including Soho in London and New York. It will house The Cypher, a new stage devoted to breakdance and hip-hop culture. The Delta District will act as Sziget’ s new nightlife zone and provide entertainment from dusk till dawn. New additions to the Delta District include The Club by Don Julio; which the festival’ s promoters Sziget Cultural Management described as“ an enclosed space offering an intimate club experience”.

EAA announces two new members
The European Arenas Association has announced that the Nokia Arena( cap. 15,000), in Tampere Finland, and Italy’ s Arena Milano( 16,000) have joined the association as new members. The announcement was made at the recent Spring General Meeting which was hosted by the Odyssey Trust Company at the SSE Arena in Belfast. The incorporation of the venues to the EAA takes the total number of members to 41 arenas across 19 countries. EAA president Olivier Toth said,“ We are delighted to welcome Nokia Arena and Arena Milano, who represent the next generation of cutting-edge, multi-event arenas. These arenas bring innovation, versatility, and a forwardthinking approach to the industry, complementing the rich tapestry of expertise and experience within our existing membership.”

Billie Eilish takes green tour to Tokyo
The Live Nation-promoted Hit Me Hard And Soft: The Tour by Billie Eilish has been extended by 23 dates, with new shows including two nights at Tokyo’ s Saitama Super Arena( cap. 37,000) on 16 and 17 August. Eilish, who is represented by WME, will maintain her long running partnership with sustainability nonprofit Reverb, which will result in a focus on reducing greenhouse gas pollution, decreasing single-use plastics and updating concessions to encourage plantbased food options in partnership with the venues on tour. A Billie Eilish Reverb Eco-Village will be created in the concourse of all venues, where fans can learn more about sustainability efforts. Fans are being encouraged to use rideshare and public transportation to reduce carbon emissions, while one dollar from each ticket sold will go to Reverb.
