Another greenfield festival debut that failed to see the light of day was Dominion . A three-day , 5,000-capacity , heavy metal and hard rock event , Dominion was called off due to only 5 % of tickets having been sold with just weeks to go . As any festival promoter will admit , launching a new event is never easy , but despite the challenges there is no shortage of debuts being delivered this year .
Launched by a team of promoters at Undivide and NVS Music Group , Project 6 debuted on 26 May . It not only involved a 15,000-capacity greenfield festival with six stages hosting live music in South London ’ s Brockwell Park but also encompassed evening sessions at city venues including Fabric ( 1,600 ), Village Underground ( 700 ) and Electric Brixton ( 1,700 ).
“ The idea is to celebrate electronic music in all its current forms in London , support club culture and build out roots for the event within the city ,” says marketing head Jack Walsh .
With the event being party of Field Day founder Marcus Weedon ’ s Brockwell Live series of summer shows at the park , which include Wide Awake and Mighty Hoopla , Walsh says some of the impacts of rising supply chain costs are mitigated by elements of the infrastructure being shared between the shows .
He says there has also been a focus on

offering attendees value for money : “ We want it to be approachable , affordable and street level . That ’ s a big part of what the producers want it to be . We ’ ve made it as affordable as possible , especially for what ’ s essentially a double experience .”
The Stadium Golf Tour is set to transform five venues , including Selhurst Park ( 25,000 ) and Twickenham ( 82,000 ), into temporary nine-hole golf courses this summer .
The tour is being promoted and produced by US-based Stadium Golf Tour and sports marketing agency Maverick Sports + Entertainment . The stadiums will be converted into golf courses , with each tee box situated on specially constructed platforms situated around the stadium bowl from which players will hit shots onto

UCI Cycling World Championships Billed as the biggest cycling event in history , the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships is certainly a first for the sport , with the world ’ s best cyclists competing across 13 disciplines at a single event for the first time .
“ This has never been done before , we are writing the manual ,” says VisitScotland director of events Paul Bush OBE , who is overseeing the project .
