Paris Olympics to use less vehicles
The planned number of vehicles to be made available to officials at the Paris Olympics has been significantly cut , in response to the cost-of-living crisis . Event planners said the number of vehicles will be cut by around 40 %, compared to the Tokyo Games , with accredited personnel required to use public transport instead . Paris 2024 coordination commission chair Pierre-Olivier Beckers-Vieujant said , “ I obviously am not naïve , I know that the world has changed . There has been no country that ‘ s been left unscathed if we think about inflation . We can work on marginal gains and balance out the budget .”
