The Sustainability Matters – Sowing The Seeds For A New Beginning session will be chaired by Association of Independent Festivals CEO Paul Reed and involve a panel including Shambala Festival co-founder Chris Johnson and A Greener Festival ’ s Claire O ’ Neill . The first day of the conference will also see the Spectator Safety in Sport – Fit for the Future session hear from a panel of leading sports events and venue operators as they explore learnings from bio-secure events . On day two , the Managing Hundreds & Thousands – Lessons In Large Scale Crowd Management And Safety session will involve Matthew Phillip , executive director of Notting Hill Carnival , Formula 1 global research director Matt Roberts and Emma Parkinson – a crowd safety specialist who has worked on events including Glastonbury .
Delivering diversity
The Creating A Representative Industry panel will explore ways in which the industry can encourage and improve diversity among its workforce . Among the great line-up of speakers on the panel will be UK Music director of operations and head of diversity Rachel Bolland and Live Nation UK diversity ERG leader Alexandra

The Creative Measures panel will look at how creative initiatives can be used to sustain unique events and encourage customer loyalty . Speakers include Underbelly founder Ed Bartlam and Boomtown creative producer Mair Morel . The Supply Chain Pressures – The Missing Link session will examine how the events industry can stop talent and infrastructure being drained out of the sector . Speakers include NoNonsense Group director Liz Madden , We are the Fair CEO Nick Morgan , Engine No 4 director Jon Drape and Kilimanjaro Live CEO Stuart Galbraith . The conference will close with a focus on issues pertinent to the independent festival sector . Speakers on the Independents Day panel will include Yasmin Galletti , head of production at We Are The Fair and Joe Heap , Towersey Festival director . By bringing the industry together under one roof the hope of EPS ’ s organisers is that informed discussion and debate , coupled with a rare opportunity to network , will result in new learnings initiatives and stronger ties between all involved .
