BuildBackBetter with NOEA at the Event Production Show
The National Outdoor Events Association ( NOEA ) has put together a day of seminars that will take place on the association ’ s own branded stage on day one of the Event Production Show
The NOEA sessions at EPS follow the association ’ s # Build- BackBetter message and look to the future of the events industry as event professionals look to learn from the previous 18 months . Kicking off the programme will be a session on Government & The Events Industry which will see Steve Whatley , chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Business Recovery in a Pandemic , lead a session on how APPG ’ s work to influence government . The session will also cover many of the ways the events industry has sought to work with politicians and civil servants over the last 18 months , where it stands now , and in the future . Next NOEA turn to the subject of Diversity , Equality & Inclusion in the events industry , and have asked Caroline Jackson , Event Consultant , Educator and Chair of Diversity & Talent at the Business Visits & Events Partnership , to chair a discussion on the subject . She ’ s joined by a high-profile panel including David Akoism from the NFL , Steph Corker from Wasserman , LaToyah McAllister-Jones , executive director , St Pauls Carnival and Jim Davey from Redwood Events . Later in the afternoon NOEA will reconvene a popular subject for event professionals ; the dialogue between events and local authorities . Representing Local Authorities is Andy McNicholl , city events manager , Liverpool City Council , who has been heavily involved in the test events earlier this spring . He ’ ll be discussing the view from Local Authorities with Philip Day , expert in licensing and legalities , Laceys Solicitors . Chaired by Alysha , Sargent , event director , Barnstorm Global , the session will be an open discussion about how we can work together to get events back up and running again .
Finally , NOEA will have a wider session on the future of the events industry , covering subjects from commercial viability , risk , sustainability and technology . Bringing together a panel of experts including Alysha Sargent , event director , Barnstorm Global ; Rob Walley , founder , Controlled Events ; Andrew McQuillan , MD , CSD Productions ; and Craig Mathie , MD , Bournemouth 7s Festival . “ The two core objectives for NOEA right now is to fight as hard as possible for the events industry , our members , and their livelihoods but to also look to protecting and improving it as we move out of the current crisis ,” said , NOEA president Tom Clements . “ We ’ re keen that , as part of this process , we continue to collaborate with our members and colleagues in the industry ; The Event Production Show is a great place to do this .”
