GERMANY
Live music fund launched
The 20th edition of the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg saw the launch the Live Music Fund Germany, a voluntary scheme set up to support grassroots events, venues, and talent. Created by the LiveKultur federal foundation, the German initiative is similar to the UK’ s LIVE Trust, and will generate funds from a mixture of donations from ticket sales and money from the industry. The scheme, which will launch at the start of 2026, has been described as“ a voluntary solidarity fund – from the industry, for the industry”. The fund will focus on three areas: grants for small and independent venues; funds to support“ loss-making newcomer shows” for emerging talent; and projects around inclusion, sustainability, education and visibility.
