Harnessing event attendees The matchday event provided opportunities for the charity to carry out in-person activations , combining digital and physical branding to raise money , thanks to the digital nature of their fundraising draw .
Play Fund Win supported CITC in and around the stadium , through a range of different physical materials .
Pitch-side , they created digital content including animations for the big-screens and LED perimeter boards to promote the draw throughout the match . SMS entry was offered within these to maximise participation and alleviate any potential issues with in-stadium connectivity .
The Results The draw raised over £ 10,000 , smashing the charity ’ s target , and resulting in some very happy prize winners . The increased visibility which the fundraising campaign afforded the Foundation , both offline and digitally was a secondary benefit which the charity were delighted to achieve .
The use of bespoke QR codes and analysis of draw page data enabled a detailed picture of crowd and supporter interaction with marketing materials . The insight applied to both ticket sales and traffic in the lead up to , during and after their match day takeover .
This valuable supporter data will have a lasting legacy for the Foundation , allowing them to develop their digital fundraising efforts for future draws and fundraising campaigns .

Q & A with Dan Schofield , CEO and co-founder
How did you get into Events ? When I was deciding what I wanted to do at university , my Dad told me to pick something that I love doing , so I wouldn ’ t lack motivation in going to work every day . It was the best advice I could have been given . At the time I loved going to live sport and music events , so I figured I ’ d be well set if I could make a career within these areas . As a result , I went and studied Event Management at ( what was ) Leeds Met Uni , and I ’ ve been extremely fortunate to develop a career for myself in events and sport ever since .
Where are you most likely to be found at an event ? Wherever I am , I ’ d likely be getting told off by my wife for pointing out event-type things , instead of just enjoying the event ( when actually , I really enjoy pointing out event-type things !)
You ’ re stranded on a island , what three objects are taking to keep occupied ? 1 . The book Powder , by Kevin Sampson , which is just a fantastic fictional rock ’ n ’ roll story ( although some of the stories in it are based on real events from Kevin ’ s time on the road with The Farm and others ). I ’ ve gifted copies of that book to various friends over the years , so I ’ m now on version four or five of it and every time I read it , it has that ability to conjure up visualisations of the words coming to life . Great book . Terrible film adaptation .
2 . A guitar . I ’ ve absolutely no idea how to play one , but reckon with enough
time I could learn it and it would be a good way to while away some hours .
3 . Spare guitar strings – what good is a guitar with no strings ? You could also use them for a load of other practical hunter-gatherer type purposes .
Who is the last artist / musician / band you listened to on Spotify ? My friends joke that I ’ m stuck in the 90s . I don ’ t care , the music of the 90s and early 2000s was brilliant . I was listening to a 90s Britpop playlist while I made tea last night .
What did you want to be when you were 10 years old ? When I was 10 , I wanted to be a vet . I ’ d got it all mapped out . I was going to be a vet , specialising in crocodiles , working in South America . I carried this through for years , and chose my optional GCSEs based on this – biology for the animal side , geography for the global knowledge , and Spanish for the lingo .
