ACADEMY OF DIGITAL DOCTORS JOURNAL 12 The problem with medical regulations in India is that they are often outdated and do not match modern advances in healthcare and technology. There has always been strict regulation when it came to advertising by doctors. But in this information-driven age, it is good for patients to have access to objective, helpful information that is 100% accurate in order to make an informed decision about which doctor to go to. The panel was mostly in favour of self-regulation being the best practice. A more practical approach would be to set out standards that allow for objective measurement and supply of information. The purpose of third party regulatory bodies is to maintain balance and address the needs of all stakeholders involved in transactions. Technology would play a huge role in making information understandable and accessible. The event was concluded by another short session by Shashank ND when he introduced the audience to Practo’s latest product, Paid Consult. This product brings providers and consumers together in real-time, allowing patients to consult doctors and pay for the services. You can chat with a specific doctor depending on what your requirement is and which doctors are available. For more details, please visit www.loopx.in
