The emphasis of Mandarin 11( 10 Accelerated) is to help students communicate more fluently and effectively in real-life situations by using idiomatic expressions. Students will improve their interpersonal communication skills as well as their abilities to present and interpret language, particularly in reading and writing. Students will also examine and discuss the characteristics of Chinese customs and traditions as well as to demonstrate cultural sensitivity through appropriate behaviors and language. Assessment includes interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational modes of communication.

Mandarin 12( 11 Accelerated) is designed for students to develop their command of interpersonal communication skills including idiomatic expression. Equal emphasis is placed on all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students will continue to explore the cultural and historical aspects of the target language while articulating their ideas on diverse topics, enriching their understanding and appreciation of its context. Upon successful completion of this course, students may continue with AP Chinese Language and Culture. This course is open to Grades 10 and 11. Assessment includes interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational modes of communication, using AP standards.
MANDARIN 12
Mandarin 11 is the continuation of Mandarin 10 with more vocabulary and grammatical structures introduced so as to enable students to communicate more fluently and effectively in real-life situations. This course aims to help students improve their interpersonal communication skills as well as their abilities to present and interpret language, particularly in spoken form. Students will also start to read more and learn to write paragraphs on familiar topics as well as communicative documents such as postcards, letters, announcements, emails, etc. Students will continue to explore the cultural
