Physical Education 10 ( Foundational Movement ) will continue to foster the necessary skills , attitude , and knowledge required to shape students into physically educated individuals . Elevating the emphasis from skills acquired in PHE 9 , this course places a personalized focus on active participation in lifelong physical activities . Simultaneously , it fosters the development of individual leadership and personal organizational skills . The major areas of focus extend to personal health and wellness , exploration of individual and dual activities , and the crafting of personalized fitness plans tailored to each student ’ s unique needs and goals . Expanding the course content , students will delve into various facets of fitness and conditioning , exploring disciplines such as yoga , pilates , spin , rowing , mobility , dance , as well as several individual sports . Special attention will also be given to recovery techniques , stretching , rehabilitation , and comprehensive training approaches for overall health . In the health segment of the course , students will centre their attention on healthy and active living , social and community health , and mental well-being . Assessments will include self , peer , and teacher evaluations of physical literacy , fitness inquiry modules , health assignments and participation rubrics evaluating leadership , fair play , and safety .
Physical Education 10 ( Outdoor Education ) integrates Health , Outdoor Education , and Physical Education to provide students with engaging , experiential opportunities that promote lifelong health , well-being , and environmental stewardship . Building on the foundational skills and knowledge acquired in previous PHE courses , the program emphasizes active participation in dynamic outdoor and physical activities , fostering the development of physical literacy , confidence , and resilience .
With a strong focus on personal and social responsibility , empowering students to develop leadership , teamwork , and decision-making skills student will explore the mental , emotional , and physical benefits of active living . Students will engage in individualized goal setting , outdoor skill development , and reflective learning that connects physical activity to overall health and wellness .
Major areas of exploration include movement skill refinement , outdoor activity preparation and safety , environmental stewardship , and the integration of Indigenous ecological knowledge . Activities will span a variety of settings and disciplines , including hiking , biking , paddling , fitness training , and outdoor leadership challenges . Emphasis will also be placed on strategies for mental well-being , healthy decision-making , and building sustainable connections with the natural world .
Assessments will include self , peer , and teacher evaluations , as well as goal-setting reflections , outdoor safety and environmental stewardship projects , and participation rubrics focused on leadership , collaboration , and personal growth . This course equips students with the skills and
