Classroom-based , using a variety of instructional strategies
Ivy Compass 8 is taken by all Grade 8 students . The Ivy Compass 8 curriculum is facilitated through Ivy days , where students are taken out of their regularly scheduled classes and immersed in experiential activities as a grade . Through a variety of learning methods , students will explore the major themes of community building , leadership , Indigenous education , and school service . Workshops , initiatives , and activities aim to further students ’ critical thinking and ethical decision-making skills within the context of the four compass quadrants : new horizons , environmental education , service learning , and world citizenship . Education will focus on selfawareness , resilience , inclusion , and connectedness , with the intention of graduating inspired leaders and agents of change . Students will document and reflect on these experiences in their Ivy Compass Journal .

Workshops , initiatives , and activities aim to further students ’ critical thinking and ethical decision-making skills within the context of the four compass quadrants : new horizons , environmental education , service learning , and world citizenship . Students will continue to build on developing the skills and attributes to be inspired leaders and socially responsible agents of change . Students will document and reflect on these experiences in their Ivy Compass Journal .
