We hold these maybe two or three times a year and it is always a useful experience and there
are often new faces to contribute to the discussions – or if preferred- you can sit and listen and
decide we are all loonies and what the heck are we going on about! It’s never dull and we have
a laugh about it while we’re at it!
For me it has a great value in that following your path can be fragmentary, diverse, ethereal
and at times one can wonder if one is headed in the “right” direction. It is reassuring to find
like minded people to bounce ideas off, hear their anecdotes and know that you are not after
all going loopy!
On this occasion we discussed certain practices, specific “disciplines” within paganism, lapses
of faith, and “black dog days” – not everything has to be strictly dogmatic but can be viewed
and discussed within the framework of a pagan spiritual path.
A relative newcomer to the group, who came to the Wisdpm circle for the first time, had this to
say,
“ Having been to a couple of rituals now, it seemed a good idea to go to our first Wisdom
Circle, to meet the group more socially in a different setting. So it was with a certain degree of
trepidation that we set out on February 8th for our first Wisdom Circle with Abus Coritani.
The initiation begun on the outskirts of Scunthorpe, when our car joined a convoy of cars all
bound for the football match! Squeezing into the last available parking space (obviously we
were meant to be there) we ventured inside to meet the others present that day. Being a
rather quiet soul, somewhat timid when it comes to sharing my thoughts, I had anticipated
being a silent witness to conversations. Not so - no need for any anxieties. The Wisdom Circle
(should I perhaps say the whole group?) provides a safe and friendly space to share ideas and
thoughts: no place for feeling awkward or inadequate. Each persons' contribution was valued,
whether as a brief passing comment, or an in-depth exposition on a question posed. I
contributed, I learnt, I look forward to the next one-and would encourage anyone who has not
been to one to go. Well worth the 2 hour round trip!” Jenny
I reiterate that we are a diverse group made from several different paths and “faiths”. I think
that is our strength and why we work together under a mantle of mutual respect and
tolerance, rather than be drawn into pedantics of practice.
Always a pleasant and laid back way to spend a few hours – and did I say– the Berkeley is a
lovely Art Deco building? – I think I may have – once or twice……….

A Walk With the Little Voice Inside

A few years ago I had an aura photo done by Kevin Guy, and interpreted by Carolyn Guy. She
advised me to stop being so rational and needing an explanation for everything. Since then it
has been a steady process of opening my mind to the magic that is out there.
