Tshwane is set to shine for its Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series debut , thanks to the efforts of residents of the city , who are invited to join the funfilled and rewarding Absa RUN YOUR CITY TSHWANE 10K City Clean-Up on Saturday 26 August .

The Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series is not just about running , it also about giving back to the communities where we host our events , so we are inviting not only our runners , but all Tshwane residents , to join the Absa RUN YOUR CITY TSHWANE 10K organisers , sponsors and partners for a fun City Clean-Up on Saturday 26 August . The clean-up takes place the day before the race will see thousands of runners and walkers painting the streets of Tshwane red .

In closing Meyer adds , “ The City Clean-Up is open to anyone , and you don ’ t need to sign up before the time . Just arrive at the venue on the morning , and our team will be there to welcome you . Each participant will receive gloves and a bag . Once completed , Absa will provide delicious breakfast packs to all volunteers . We can ’ t wait to team up with Tshwane residents on Saturday 26 August , as Tshwane gets ready to shine at the inaugural Absa RUN YOUR CITY TSHWANE 10K .”

Reducing Waste
The City Clean-Up ties in perfectly with the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series ’ Single-use Plastic ( SUP ) Management Campaign , which aims to drastically reduce the usage of single-use plastics by 95 % at all five events in the series . “ Our ultimate goal is to host a mass participation road running series that is plastic-free and highlights the splendour of each host city , while celebrating its people , their talent and the amazing sport of running ,” says Meyer .
