The inaugural Absa RUN YOUR CITY TSHWANE 10K will create an unparalleled atmosphere with a fantastic line-up of route entertainment on Sunday 27 August .
Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series events feature terrific on-route entertainment , to provide runners and walkers with non-stop vibe and fun , keep the energy high , and keep the legs ticking over . So you ’ re in for a treat if you will be lining up to run the first edition of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY TSHWANE 10K . “ It ’ s guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience with its incorporation of Tshwane ’ s iconic landmarks and scenic routes ,” says Michael Meyer , Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and founder of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series .
Getting the Party Started
Absa ’ s Group Chief Marketing and Corporate Affairs Officer , Sydney Mbhele , says , “ We are excited and looking forward to a fun-filled 10k race in Tshwane . Participants will get to experience different elements , including the warm-up zone that will be located within the athlete holding area at the start , where our MC and dancers will facilitate the fun warm-up and interact with the runners before the race starts .”
“ From start to finish , participants will be captivated by the vibrant Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series atmosphere , filled with music , dance , and lively performances by Tshwane ’ s leading performing arts groups . The on-route entertainment , featuring talented dancers , musicians , and cultural performers , will create a touch of magic along the route while leaving lasting memories .”
Meyer adds , “ In addition to the thrilling live entertainment on-route , participants can expect an array of exciting sponsor / partner activations that will enhance the atmosphere of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY TSHWANE 10K . The Absa High 5 Zone , PUMA Forever Faster 100 sprint zone , DHL Mile , CHERY Cheer Zone and Woolies Dash are just a few of the fantastic activations that will add to the excitement . Also look out for additional activations from renowned brands such as Coca-Cola , Avalanche Bicycles and Garmin .
“ Then along the route , the runners will come across our Absa encouragement zone , where our colleagues and dancers will be cheering them on as they continue to tackle the race ,” add Mbhele . “ And runners that joined Team Absa Walk Run on Strava will get access to the Absa grab-and-go hospitality area after the race .”
In closing , Meyer says all participant in the race should arrive at the start ready to enjoy the party vibe of the race . “ We invite all runners and walkers to put on their running shoes and get ready to experience the perfect fusion of athleticism and exhilarating entertainment ,” he concludes .
