The events in the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series are known to feature terrific on-route entertainment , and the new Gqeberha leg on 2 April will be no different . A host of local performing arts groups and sponsor activations will line the route at regular intervals , to provide the runners and walkers with non-stop vibe and fun , and keep the energy high and the legs ticking over .

The Absa RUN YOUR CITY GQEBERHA 10K is set to be an on-route party from start to finish !
“ Gqeberha ’ s leading performing arts groups are guaranteed to have runners in awe , and the artists are hungry for the interaction and support ,” says Michael Meyer , Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Founder of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series . “ We are also excited to present the runners and walkers of the Friendly City with our spectacular sponsor activations , including the Chery Cheer Zone early in the race , the Absa High 5 vibe point at halfway , and the PUMA Forever Faster 100 Sprint challenge in the last kilometre , to mention just a few . Runners can look forward to experiencing high octane energy with interactive performances from start to finish !”

One of the highlights of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series events is the PUMA Forever Faster 100 Sprint activation , where athletes can earn themselves some great discount vouchers if they can wind up their sprint speed when they reach the activation in the last kilometre of the race .
This section of the route requires you to sprint 100m as fast as you can through the PUMA activation point , so save some energy and get your legs ready ! You ’ ll know you ’ re there when you see the red astroturf on the road and the PUMA signs in Beach Road . That ’ s the sprint zone !

Runners and walkers taking part in the Absa RUN YOUR CITY GQEBERHA 10K are invited to join the party on race day , and the performers love it when athletes stop to dance , sing along and just enjoy the music . Even if you don ’ t stop , give the performers a shout-out and a wave as you pass , and use the beat and the ‘ gees ’ to power the next section of your run !
“ We are excited to bring the PUMA Forever Faster 100 Sprint to Gqeberha ,” says Brett Bellinger , Marketing Director of PUMA South Africa , the official apparel sponsor of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series . “ We are looking for # FastTimes , and as motivation , there will be some exciting prizes up for grabs . The male and female runner with the fastest time will each take home a R10,000 PUMA Shopping Experience . We will also have prizes for runners who complete the sprint in under 15 , 20 and 25 seconds . All that you must do is prove that you have what it takes to run # ForeverFaster .”
Runners who secure the following sprint times will qualify for the in-store discount at any PUMA Retail Outlet , and will be notified via SMS after the race :
• Under 15 seconds for 100m : 30 % discount off a purchase at the PUMA store
• Under 20 seconds for 100m : 20 % discount off a purchase at the PUMA store
• Under 25 seconds for 100m : 15 % discount off a purchase at the PUMA store
