Boosted Prize Purse in 2023
This year , South Africa ’ s award-winning road running series , the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series not only boasts two new races , but also a boosted total prize purse that is guaranteed to bring all the top athletes from South Africa and abroad to the start line . “ We ’ re excited to confirm that the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series has a combined series prize purse of R1,560,000 in 2023 ,” says Michael Meyer , Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Founder of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series .
“ Our goal is to become the leading 10km road running series in the world , and we trust that the 2023 prize monies will serve both as motivation and reward to the contenders . We can ’ t wait to witness world class performances on home soil , and are excited to kick off the 2023 season with the new Absa RUN YOUR CITY GQEBERHA 10K on Sunday 2 April .
