PEUGEOT’ S POLYGON C

time to shape the futur

required with a traditional steering wheel. Conversely, at higher speeds, only a small input to the Hypersquare ® is needed to adjust the vehicle ' s trajectory.
The combination of Hypersquare ® and Steerby-Wire provides exceptional precision and responsiveness at high speeds, unmatched comfort during low-speed maneuvers, and an overall sense of hyper-agility. Furthermore, the Steer-by-Wire system delivers optimal road feedback, actively filtering out undesirable vibrations while transmitting essential information to help the driver understand road conditions.
The PEUGEOT POLYGON CONCEPT is not just a design vision, it ' s a dynamic, compact concept car, measuring under 4 metres, that offers a concrete preview of future PEUGEOT models. It allows drivers to immediately experience this new driving sensation in real-world conditions. Serving as a true dynamic proving ground, the concept is dedicated to testing and showcasing numerous innovations set for introduction by PEUGEOT from 2027 onwards, most notably the revolutionary Hypersquare ® steering control and Steer-by-Wire technology.
The PEUGEOT POLYGON CONCEPT brings the revolutionary Hypersquare ® to life, offering drivers a unique and beneficial new driving experience.
For more than a century, the circular steering wheel has been the standard. However, with Hypersquare ®, PEUGEOT completely reenvisions the steering wheel. Hypersquare ® is more than just a new shape; it represents a new ergonomic philosophy for the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit ® and functions as a fully electronic vehicle control system.
This innovative control system is paired with Steer-by-Wire electronic steering technology. This means there is no mechanical link between the steering mechanism and the wheels, control is entirely electronic. This technology, already proven in the aerospace sector, is slated for inclusion in a production PEUGEOT vehicle starting in 2027.
Beyond traditional power steering, the system features speed-variable steering ratios. For low-speed maneuvers like parking or turning, Hypersquare ® enables quick and easy movements without the driver needing to move their hands extensively or make multiple turns. The maximum rotation is limited to 170 ° in each direction( just under a full turn), compared to the three full turns typically
The revolutionary shape of the Hypersquare ® reinvents cockpit ergonomics. Key controls are placed on four circular pods at each corner, accessible at your fingertips. This design allows you to operate controls without ever lifting your hands from the steering wheel.
WINDSCREEN DISPLAY TECHNOLOGY
With the PEUGEOT POLYGON CONCEPT, the windscreen is the screen, eliminating traditional dashboard displays. All information is projected onto the windscreen via a Micro- LED panel located behind the Hypersquare ®. This innovation offers an exceptional, uniquely immersive experience for the driver, with a display size equivalent to a 31’’ screen( 24 cm wide by 74 cm high). Positioned directly in the driver’ s line of sight, this maximises safety by preventing distractions and enhances the driving sensation by creating a strong connection with the road.
The driver can personalise the information projected onto the windscreen, with different functionalities depending on the vehicle state:
