Several engine and gearbox options
Powering the GT MkII is a 4,2-litre V8, with twin superchargers driven off the crankshaft. In a restomod market where many V8 revivals use turbocharging, the CAV MkII’ s twin-supercharged engine is different, with its distinctive supercharger whine sure to add appeal to the driving experience at low speeds. This engine is rated at 600 kW, but it is not the only powertrain option.
True to its heritage as a custom builder, CAV can accommodate other powertrain options for the MkII, including a naturally aspirated V8, for customers who want the traditional, linear feel and power delivery of an atmospheric engine. There is also a twin-turbocharged V10 engine option, if absolute power is the goal.
A mid-engined supercar should always be rewarding to drive, but never needlessly challenging. To ensure all the MkII’ s engine power is accessible rather than intimidating, the CAV team uses an all-wheel-drive system linked to a six-speed semi-automatic transmission. Customers can choose full manual or dual-clutch transmission options, too, if they want a more raw shifting feel or the fastest possible shifts for track-day experiences.
Suspension and braking components are sourced from the world’ s best highperformance suppliers to ensure the GT MkII is balanced and formidable on the most demanding roads. It features three-way adjustable KW dampers and 8-piston Brembo brakes, with optional carbon-ceramic discs for further mass reduction and enhanced braking confidence.
Enhanced and exclusive
Unlike the classic GT model, the GT MkII is designed to enhance day-to-day usability with a range of convenience and safety features uncommon on similar reproduction-type restomods. These include power windows, power steering, decent luggage space, swan-wing doors, ABS, ESC, traction control, and airbags.
Designed to replace the brand’ s longstanding, classic GT model, the seriesproduction GT MkII will not be a short-lived limited run. Production numbers will, however, remain exclusive, at just 10 cars per year.
In parallel, and in the truest traditions of boutique car manufacturing, CAV is also offering extensive personalisation opportunities through an even more exclusive 60th Anniversary Limited Edition of the GT MkII.
Only 40 60th Anniversary Limited Edition GT MkII cars will be built by CAV’ s team of technical experts and master technicians. Each of these cars offers a‘ curated experience’ for the lucky few. Expect precious metals, tailored interior treatments and a selection of distinctive liveries. All the product features and customisation options that global collectors in the market for a restomod are seeking, and are not always available from traditional supercar brands.
