In the commercial vehicle space, why is after-sales support critical to keeping businesses moving, and how does FUSO approach this?
In this industry, uptime is everything. A vehicle off the road directly impacts a customer ' s business, which is why after-sales plays such a critical role.
At FUSO Trucks, we approach this by focusing on speedy responsiveness in collaboration with our extensive dealer network across Southern Africa. Consistent communication with our customers regarding the status of their vehicle is crucial. It often helps keep them at ease, as opposed to not knowing what ' s going on with their vehicle. It ' s not just about resolving issues; it ' s mostly about minimising downtime, ensuring parts are available when needed, and putting systems in place that allow customers to operate with confidence.
To enhance his professional development, Mbuso is studying towards a Bachelor of Business Administration degree through Regent Business School. He remains focused on one key objective: helping customers maximise uptime and keep their businesses moving.
As Head of After-Sales for FUSO Trucks Southern Africa, Mbuso leads a team focused on delivering the reliable support, technical expertise, and customer partnerships that keep businesses moving. We spoke to him about the critical role after-sales plays in delivering long-term customer value.
As Head of After-Sales at FUSO Trucks Southern Africa, what is your role in supporting customers beyond the point of sale?
Ultimately, after-sales is where trust is built, and for us, that ' s a key part of our value proposition and brand promise. Once trust is broken, it ' s hard to rebuild the relationship, which is a situation we endeavour to avoid as far as possible.
How does FUSO support its dealer network and customers when it comes to parts availability and solutions like FUSO Value Parts?
Our dealer network is an extension of our FUSO Trucks brand, that is why staying close to our dealer partners is crucial to ensure a consistent level of service across all regions. This includes ongoing training, technical support, and ensuring that the right parts are available at the right time.

hing, but trust is built ort that follows."

As Head of After-Sales, my focus is on ensuring that our customers are fully supported long after they ' ve taken delivery of their vehicles. That means working closely with our dealer network to ensure we provide our customers with reliable service, parts availability, and technical support across the Southern Africa region.
At its core, the role is about building confidence in the brand through continuous customer relationship management. When customers invest in a FUSO truck( s), we need them to know that we are there to support their operations, not just at the point of sale, but throughout the lifecycle of their vehicle.
With the status of our economy and the financial pressure our customers often find themselves in, FUSO Value Parts forms an important part of our value-add promise. This part of our product offering provides our customers with a costeffective solution, particularly for older vehicles, without compromising on quality and reliability. It allows us to support a broader range of customer needs outside of Genuine Parts, while still maintaining the quality standards expected from the FUSO Trucks brand.
