Teemane Mall officially opened by Vice President of Botswana

If someone had said to us two years ago that there was going to be an 11 500m ² shopping centre in Letlhakane , we would have said they were mad , there would never be that much demand in Letlhakane , but how wrong can you be .
We initially planned a 5 500m ² centre for the first phase , but within a matter of a few weeks we realised that we would have to increase it to 7 500m ² and a few weeks after that to 11 500m ². Within two months of going to the market we had heads of terms from prospective tenants for 70 % of the centre . The demand was absolutely amazing both in demand and quality of the tenants .
We started construction with the bulk earthworks in April 2021 , which took three months as all the fill that was used needed to be transported from Francistown 225km away . I ’ m not sure that anybody realised what logistical challenges there were going to be in Letlhakane , where even the concrete stone and sand had to be transported in from outside of the area .
Notwithstanding the challenges , Red East the main contractor , completed the centre in September 2022 and we handed the shops over to the tenants for beneficial occupation and tenant fitout for an official opening on 19 November . A few of the tenants had already started trading in October .
The centre was opened on 19 November by the Vice President of Botswana , The Honourable Slumber Tsogwane , along with Mr & Mrs Tipson Mahube ( the landowners ) and Turnie Morolong ( Time Projects Director ).
We have manged to get the most amazing tenants for the centre , and only in our wildest dream could we have expected to get the quality of tenants such as : Pick n Pay , Pep Home , Hungry Lion , Health Alternatives , EXACT , Markham , Studio 88 , Cellphone Warehouse , Letlhakane Optometrist , Fabulash , 5th Edition perfume , Delta Investments , Access Bank , Clicks , Options , OK Furnishers , Woolworths , Furnmart , Minimore , First National Bank of Botswana , Knockout , GoZone , The Niche Academy , Kontach Enterprises , Mr Price , JB Sports , Sportscene , Ackermans , Dodo ’ s , Capellos , Sheet Street and Pep Stores .
Our consultants , staff and contractors have done a fantastic job in building and tenanting the centre . The project team comprises of the following :
