Mashatu Terrace in new CBD is complete
By Brett Marlin
MASHATU TERRACE
As you read this, Capital Bank and Bank Gaborone will have moved into
their new offices, recently named Mashatu Terrace, and will have joined
those other corporates who have relocated to the new Gaborone CBD. It
certainly is the place to be!
Bank Gaborone occupies 75% of the east building which is the larger
of the two buildings. Capital Bank has taken the ground and first floor
of the western building. We have been lucky enough to secure Huawei
as tenants on the second floor of the western building and they will be
moving in during October once we have completed their fitout. We have in the past highlighted that this building is going to be the
first Green Star rated building in Botswana, but this is still going to take
some months to achieve as there are so many reports, drawings and
documents that need to be produced to get certification. We will keep
you posted on the rating process.
It is really difficult to explain the satisfaction ones gets from seeing a
drawing turn into reality over a two-and-a-half-year period. One feels
really proud to have achieved the end goal and to see such a fantastic
building turning out even better than expected. What’s more, that vision
is going to be standing there for all to see for years to come. I’m not
trying to be soppy, but it’s an incredible feeling. There are a few people that need to be thanked and possibly the most
important people are our partners in the development, CC Project, who
have shown faith in Time Projects by allowing us to develop on their
property, Cuzen and Lesedi Mesotlo - thank you.
ISSUE 35 - SEPTEMBER 2018
We have been really fortunate to be able to work with the best
consultants and contractors in Botswana and without the dedicated input
from them all, this certainly would not have been the success that it is.
