Drawing inspiration from machines and the West Coast landscape , Minus 8 was born “ from a life in technology . Its aesthetic is pure in form , yet rugged by nature .” The company is a creation of the product design firm ASTRO Studios , which recently set its sights on the watch industry .
Its collections of watches are minimalist in design and offer various materials and functions , as well as unique designs . Its Layer collection , for example , is constructed from stacked and varied metal plates .
