Motorsports and More

Formex was created to appeal to those who enjoy“ speed, adrenaline and out-of-the-ordinary designs,” explains Formex president Raphaël Granito.“ We have customers ranging from their early twenties to much older guys who have been Formex aficionados since the beginning of the brand in 1998. Like our timepieces, our typical customer can’ t really be labeled and hence can’ t really be called typical,” he adds.
The brand’ s affinity to the worlds of motorsports is found in its use of an unusual case suspension that echoes similar designs in racecars.
But more recently Formex has also ventured into relationships with standout players in other sports, including several non-motorsport racing events. The company has created limited editions for brand ambassadors such as Fabian Cancellara, a road bicycle Olympic champion, and Swiss-born Marc Hauser, who has a world record in speed tracking, a free-flying form of skydiving.
“ One of our ambassadors is Noah Stutz, the youngest person ever to compete in Top Fuel drag racing. Last year we went to support him at the NHRA races in Las Vegas where he did an amazing job,” Granito reports. Swiss freestyle skier Elias Ambühl, another Formex ambassador, recently won his 4th X-Games Bronze Medal in Aspen and also competed at the 2014 winter Olympics.
