The Chindia Park was developed in 1970, on the meadow of the Ialomita river, on the lot of the past Royal Garden.
The summer garden, with its cinema and scene , and even the lake are all still in function. The Zoo located in the
Chindia Park is laid out on the lot where in 1583, the ruler Petru Cercel developed the first zoological corner in the
country. On the surface of 3 ha there are sheltered over 100 species from every continent.
The Historical Centre of Targoviste was mostly built at the end of the XX century and the beginning of the XIX century and it is one of the few central areas of the towns from the Extracarpatian area that escaped the destruction campaign of the communist age, together with similar areas from Craiova, Braila and Botosani. Its beautiful architecture
and multiple shops, cafes and pubs make it the main entertainment point for locals.
