'festival season' has gradually risen to popularity, it is a time of the year when a combination of festivals taking place, summer clothing going onto the shop floor and line up releases all happen at once and people are excited for their summer. the words 'festival season' is being used much more on social media, by people, retailers and public figures, its one of the most anticipated 'seasons' of the year. therefore i want to make the most of this growing trend and create a business surrounding it because i know how important it is to people to have the perfect outfit at their favourite festival.

Celebrity figures have always had a lot of influence on consumers, particularly in fashion, they are looked up to for inspiration when consumers are wanting a certain style, retailer or item of clothing. outfits worn by celebrities to festivals like coachella are iconic and in demand to be seen by consumers who are looking for inspirations when shopping for their festival outfit. it is an exciting time for a trend driven consumer to see these images because a lot of their outfits will embody the celebrities which they follow on social media.

outside music festivals properly rose to popularity in the 1960s. the most significant of that era being Woodstock festival in 1969 when 200,00 tickets had been sold but over 500,000 people arrived to see the likes of jimi hendrix and the who. in 1970 Glastonbury festival made a name for itself after selling 1,500 tickets at £1 each it has continued on since then to grow to have an audience of over 100,000. music festivals were becoming a time of different, cultures, genres of music and people coming together to all enjoy the same music. the audiences of these festivals had formed their very own subculture, what they wore and what they believed in and how they acted at these festivals set the town for future festivals and retailers being committed to reminisce those past trends and to have the best 'festival fashion' for their customers.
