If It Doesn't Add UP,

Let It Not Subtract

Life is short, and as Charlie Chaplin said, "Life is an unrehearsed play." We can't go back and change what we've already done. And most of our lives are spent in relationships with other people: family, friends, acquaintances, work, our environment, etc. And it's well known that our relationships with those around us and our surroundings affect us emotionally and psychologically, and when they conflict with our own feelings, they cause stress. And the Mother of All Diseases is STRESS.

Some time ago, an ABClatino follower showed up wearing a t-shirt that read

"If It Doesn't Add UP, Let it Nott Subtract" and it made me think... Why maintain relationships that don't contribute to our development and drain us of energy that we should be using to expand our consciousness? This doesn't mean we should reject everyone and everything that doesn't suit us; that would be considering ourselves the center of the universe and that everything and everyone should revolve around us. But it does mean that we can and should practice self-assessment and consciously choose how and with whom we relate, beyond emotions. If It Doesn't Add UP, Let It Not Subtract.
