The immigration system in the United States is in a dismal state, providing little hope for immigrants, and for the U.S. citizens who understand the need to revitalize our longstanding method of bringing in needed workers and their families from other countries to help our nation.
Our immigration system lacks the dignity for workers so essential to firming up the workforce needed to make America strong now and in the future. One of the reasons why immigration has come to its present state is that the public knows almost nothing about immigration nor why this present generation of immigrants is coming.
The U.S. public neither understands the immense benefit that immigrants bring to the United States nor the value of a properly reformed immigration system with people yearning to come here in a dignified manner. Most of the public in the United States only see the benefits immigrants get by coming here and the cost of assimilating them into our society. Just look at the drama surrounding the border, the busing of immigrants from border states, and the humanitarian crisis for these bused immigrants to unprepared cities.
