Most Latinos entering the United States think they will get lawful residence status by applying for asylum, but the statistics prove that idea wrong. Latinos truly fear persecution by powerful forces in their home countries, but the U.S. government doesn’t consider their cases deserving of an asylum grant.

If you are a Latino fearing persecution in your home country your likely chance of winning is about 25 percent.
