It is said that it’s darkest just before the sun comes out and it’s also said that the dawn of a new era is briefly heralded many decades before it actually happens. I’m a firm believer of both. The second one takes me to what I consider the first signs of the Aquarius era: the sixties. It was a decade of breaking with the past and exploring the future. There was a zest for a new world order based on Love and Peace. And dreaming of it was the way to respond, in thought and action, to the realities of the old-world order.
As for the first one, it’s what gives me courage and
endurance to face every day in a world immersed in darkness.
In the year 1969, the singer, composer, and precursor of the Rock in Latin America, Lito Nebia recorded a song with his rock band Los Gatos “Sueña y corre” (Dream and run).
Many of you had not been born yet, but someone that was part of that generation is Pope Francis, who last month celebrated his decade long pontificate. Hear him talk to the youth about the importance of dreaming. A coincidence?
I don’t believe in coincidences…
