Mariana Houssay, @marulandia on social media, is an Argentine nomadic woman who, in March 2020, was prevented from returning to Australia by the pandemic, where she had lived since February 2019. So, she decided to invest all her savings to buy a 1992 Fiat Ducato.

Traveling through Argentina, someone on the road showed her a video of a Spaniard using recycled cooking oil as fuel. Without further ado, she decided to put it into practice to transform her van into a sustainable vehicle. Thus, Kato Oil, her sustainable truck, was born. “What led me to do it was my motivation and search for sustainability. As long as I can reduce my carbon footprint on this planet, I will try."

“I was learning to trust my intuition, to trust what I have inside and put it into practice. Everything that tells me that “here yes or here no”. I've had bad experiences, but very few compared to all the beautiful people I've met. Although it is true that there is some courage that must be had to go out on the road alone.”
