2012 ABC National Specialty Best of Breed Winner Good things don’t happen overnight and after nearly 20 years of selective breeding and collaboration with others you get a breeding that looks promising and end up losing all but two pups to a quirk of nature. We knew Beckett was special from the start. Beckett was one of the two survivors from a difficult rst litter. Beckett started early on putting himself out there. He seems to have been born with a positive self-image and a pay attention to me attitude. When evaluated at 8 weeks we knew he was something special. His puppy hood was pretty happy go lucky, lled with long romps out doors and early exposure to birds. Raised in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains, he’s de nitely a country boy. As he grew he really liked going down to the creek for long runs with the “big” dogs and some bird work. He learned very quickly and was standing steady and looking good pretty early on. We did take Beckett to conformation classes which he enjoyed, probably because of the chance to play with other puppies and to exert his “Hey, look at me, I something special!” attitude. We didn’t have a chance to do much with him in Colorado, as the shows were small, so he went off to Texas with Karen Livingston.
