not go togther. Love gives and when we are in ourselves we take. God's 10 commandments gave us 4 vertical commands that will produce a loving and eternal relationship with Him and then 6 horizontal commands that will produce a loving and eternal relationship with mankind. The CROSS is always the place of death of to self. It is were you crucify your passions. John explains in I John 2: 16 For all that is in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life- John is trying to inform us that we have the possibility of living in 2 "worlds" . This present day world and the world of our heavenly Father or the Kingdom of God. Lust belongs to the present day world so verse 15 tells us not to love the world or the things in the world. He then contrasts this love to the love for our Heavenly Father. Your heart will only do one or the other. You will seek to get or seek to give. The choice is yours and the results are eternal.
Single & Love: God's Way
Two verses I love are: God will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right (Psalm 84:11) & The blessings of the Lord makes one rich and adds no sorrow (Proverbs 10:22). We have to trust that God truly loves us and that in the right season of our lives, when we are matured enough spiritually and emotionally that He will add a spouse into our lives. That's the safest and greatest love two singles can enjoy the way God intended....the two becoming one...til death do you part. Marriage is honorable and it is the context for "love" as prescribed by God who IS LOVE!
