○ Advocating for the 30 km / h speed in and around school zones .
• The Ford Foundation-funded Walking to School project in Mamelodi ended in May 2023 with the final environmental modifications completed on Tsamaya Avenue in Mamelodi , in celebration of the United Nations Global Road Safety Week in May 2023 .
• The FIA Foundation-funded Walking to School project , set in Khayelitsha , ended in June 2023 . A final version of the Safe School Zone Toolkit for South African decision-makers , educators , and other stakeholders will be delivered as an outcome of this dynamic project in the next reporting period .
• The WATCH project team distributed various child safety posters and brochures to the participating schools , offered an active presence during parent meetings , and provided ChildSafe with a greater reach to indirect beneficiaries .
• The Walking Safely to School project , in the Khayelitsha area , Cape Town , funded by FIA Foundation was presented at the Southern African Transport Conference ( Annual Transportation Convention ) in July 2023 .

• International Walk to School Day was celebrated in October 2023 with various participating schools calling for action to have a 30km / h zone in and around schools as an agency from the participating schools and learners .
