○ ChildSafe ’ s Board launched its Legacy – Bequest Promotion – programme at this special celebratory event . The campaign ’ s focus was to imagine a future where every child has access to quality early childhood education , where roads are safe , and where the prevention of injuries is at the forefront of every parent , caregiver , and community member ’ s mind .
○ The Legacy Programme offers a unique opportunity for passionate supporters to leave a lasting impact on the lives of future generations by joining ChildSafe ’ s Legacy programme .
• Pedestrian Safety Programme :
○ The Walking Safely to School project : Reach and Impact : Reached 11 023 children and 1 236 parents , caregivers , and teachers through our pedestrian safety initiatives in Belhar , and Delft . This programme has significantly improved road safety awareness and practices among children and their communities .
▪ The various activities for the Walking Safely to School project include :
○ Road Safety Education .
○ Parent and Teacher meetings and workshops .
○ Learner Participation activities through Photo-Voice and a Knowledge , Attitude and Practices ( KAP ) survey . KAP survey is a quantitative method , with predefined questions formatted in standardized questionnaires , that provides access to quantitative and qualitative information that can be used for feedback and research .
○ Providing Road Safety workshops as well as Road Safety resources for the Teachers .
