Why I Chose These Images.
My purpose for this magazine was to create a timeline of the economic decay of the 1920s. I started off the magazine with a photo of a party from the early 1920s. This party symbolizes all of the reckless spending and borrowing that the people did because of the rising stock markets and the money they thouoght they had. The next part of the magazine is a drawing of Black Tuesday, when the stock market chrashed. The fear that protrudes from this drawing is a great visual representation of how the people must have felt as their money left and the world around them fell apart. The final portion of the magazine is a photograph of a truck driving away from a giant dust wall. This is a representation of the struggles that farmers and people in the dust bowl were trying to run away from but found themselves stuck in.
