HONORING THE LEGACIES OF DR . ANGELA DAVIS & NANA DARKOA SEKYAMIAH
We had the honor of inviting Dr . Angela Davis to be in conversation with Ghanaian activists and artists . Dr . Angela Davis is globally known for her contributions to Black feminism and Black power movements worldwide . This was one of the few times she had been to Ghana and intentionally engaged with Ghanaians on the ground . Dr . Davis joined us throughout the weekend , broke bread with activists at our partner luncheon and sat on our panel with Nana Darkoa .
Nana Darkoa is an award-winning Ghanaian writer and feminist activist who was able to speak to the local context and the state of women and LGBT + rights in Ghana . To host them in conversation was a major moment in history .
