1. The President shall preside over all club and officers meetings.

2. The President shall plan all Advisory Board meetings.

3. The President shall ensure communication of club announcements to club

members.

4. The President shall have the authority to represent this organization at any

meeting of the Georgia Junior Classical League and at any meeting where a

delegate from this organization is required.

Section 2.

The Vice President shall have the following duties:

1. The Vice President shall execute the duties of the President in the event of

death, illness, or inability to serve.

2. The Vice President shall organize a club service project.

3. The Vice President shall shadow and assist the President.

Section 3.

The Secretary shall have the following duties:

1. The Secretary shall take record of the proceedings at officer and board

meetings.

2. The Secretary shall update Latinitas point records and make them

accessible to club members.

Section 4.

The Certamen and Academic Chair shall have the following duties:

1. The Certamen and Academic Chair shall be responsible for planning and

running Certamen practices.

2. The Certamen and Academic Chair shall work with sponsor to register for

academic tests.

3. The Certamen and Academic Chair shall work with sponsor to register

teams for all Certamen tournaments.

4. The Certamen and Academic Chair shall be responsible for providing study

materials for academic tests to club members.

Section 5.

The Spirit and Publicity Princeps shall have the following duties:

1. The Spirit and Publicity Princeps shall lead JCL spirit at Fall Forum and

State Convention.

2. The Spirit and Publicity Princeps shall be responsible for publicizing this

organization at school events.

3. The Spirit and Publicity Princeps shall organize items to submit for the

publicity contest at State Convention.

4. The Spirit and Publicity Princeps shall create a North Gwinnett Junior

Classical League scrapbook with the help of the Historian to submit at State

Convention.

Section 6.

The Historian shall have the following duties:

1. The Historian shall take pictures at JCL events.

2. The Historian shall post media from events on the Facebook page.

3. The Historian shall assist the Spirit and Publicity Princeps in creating a

North Gwinnett Junior Classical League scrapbook to submit at State Convention.

4. The Historian shall create one North Gwinnett Junior Classical League video

documenting all events throughout the year.

Section 7.

All Officers shall have the following duties:

All officers shall attend officer and board meetings.

All officers shall communicate with each other and with club members.

All officers shall attend the Georgia Junior Classical League State Convention.

All officers shall be responsible for general planning and preparation for North Gwinnett Junior Classical League events.

ARTICLE VI - Advisory Board

Section 1.

The Advisory Board shall be composed of a select group of North Gwinnett Junior Classical League members chosen by the Executive Board.

Section 2.

To be eligible for the Advisory Board, a candidate must be a North Gwinnett Junior Classical League member in good standing and be enrolled in a Latin class. Members of the Advisory Board must be enrolled in a Latin class during their entire term as a board member or have completed all the Latin courses available at North Gwinnett High School.

Section 3.

The process for selecting Advisory Board members and the specific rules and requirements for Advisory Board members shall be determined by the Executive Board. The sum of Advisory Board members and officers shall be an odd number so as to prevent ties during voting.

Section 4.

The Advisory Board shall serve as a supporting role for the executive officers by providing feedback about club events. Board members shall serve as representatives of the North Gwinnett Junior Classical League inside and outside of the classroom. Board members shall vote on certain decisions within the organization.

ARTICLE VII - Quorum

A quorum consists of three-fourths of the voting delegates at the officer and board meetings.

ARTICLE VIII - By-laws

Section 1.

By-laws not contrary to any provisions of the constitution may be established.

Section 2.

By-laws may be established, amended, or repealed by majority vote of a panel consisting of the Executive Board and the Advisory Board.

ARTICLE IX - Amendments

Suggested amendments to this Constitution must be submitted in writing to the President at least one week prior to the board meeting at which they are to be voted on. During the board meeting, the amendment shall be read in entirety. The Executive and Advisory Boards shall carefully examine suggested amendments and make recommendations concerning them before voting. Amendments to the Constitution must have a two-thirds majority vote.

ARTICLE X - Ratification

The Constitution shall be ratified by a three-fourths vote when proposed to the Executive and Advisory Boards of this organization.
