PRIVILEGE STANDARDS :

• The privilege delineation system must be tailored to the hospital , taking technical and staff capabilities into consideration .
• An objective and evidence-based process must be used to grant , deny and / or renew privileges .
• Those who provide a “ medical level of care ,” including PAs and APRNs ( RN scope of practice does not require privileges ), must use the medical staff process for credentialing and privileging , making all MS standards applicable . This includes recommendations by the organized medical staff and approval by the governing body , Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation ( OPPE ) or Focused Professional Practice Evaluation ( FPPE ).
