Athena Patel * Computer Forensic Tools and Techniques In order to recover digital evidence , investigators rely on a variety of hardware , software , and methodologies to inspect devices securely , efficiently , and lawfully while maintaining the integrity of the data . The purpose of this research is to understand how investigators use digital forensics tools to retrieve locked , deleted , or hidden data . After looking at some popular tools and techniques , where evidentiary data can be found on a computer system will be discussed .
William Patton * Natural Language Processing Natural Language Processing ( NLP ) is a subfield of artificial intelligence that combines linguistics and computer science , enabling humans to communicate with machines . After outlining how Natural Language Processing was developed and operates , some of the technologies and projects currently employing NLP will be introduced . Following a look at the advantages and disadvantages of NLP in the age of Narrow Artificial Intelligence ( NAI ), this project explores how NLP technologies will impact society in the future .
Megan Ponce * Machines and Medicine : Artificial Intelligence and Healthcare This research will examine how artificial intelligence ( AI ) is being used in healthcare . Many jobs which were traditionally done by humans are now being performed by machines more efficiently and faster . However , can a machine replace the compassion , empathy , and commitment to patients ’ overall well-being like a human can ? This research examines the advantages and disadvantages of artificial intelligence and machine learning in the healthcare industry .
Jalyn Rivera * Artificial Intelligence in Criminal Justice Artificial Intelligence ( AI ) is becoming increasingly widespread in the criminal justice system . For example , AI can effectively track patterns and process data efficiently to predict criminal behavior and identify suspects . Artificial intelligence is also being used for predictive policing to help law enforcement locate areas that experience more crime , so the police know where to position more officers and resources . More increasingly , AI is being used in facial recognition to identify suspects and help find missing persons . This presentation will discuss how AI is improving the way the criminal justice system operates .
