WK15 Educational Advancement Foundation Steps to Successful Scholarships
This workshop will do a deep drive into the scholarship and endowment award application process for the Educational Advancement Foundation . It is geared toward sorority undergraduate and graduate students looking for financial support for college expenses . Attendees will receive step-by-step instructions to apply for scholarships with the EAF and useful tips and suggestions to be successful .
WK16 Connection and Social Action AKAs L . E . A . D . 4.0 – The Power of Pink Advocacy
In the final year of the Excellence administration , the International Connection and Social Action Committee will focus on the 2021 – 2022 AKA Legislative Agenda and provide best practices for championing policies and legislation that will decide the outcome of mid-term elections to benefit communities we serve . This skill building workshop will ( 1 ) reiterate Back to the Basics and Do ’ s and Don ’ ts for grassroots advocacy and voter mobilization ; ( 2 ) share political action and funding strategies for greater social impact and ( 3 ) provide guidance and encouragement for sorors seeking public office .
WK17 Rituals Our Sacred Rituals : Reverence , Reflection , Renewal
The sorority ’ s Rituals represent the formal observance of our sorority ’ s special ceremonies : appropriate attire , participants , and scheduling . Every soror has the responsibility to be familiar with our Rituals . Learn how to execute Alpha Kappa Alpha ’ s ritual ceremonies in this informative and interactive workshop .
CR06 Academic Funding Savvy , Scholarly , Sisterly : Identifying and Pursuing Academic Funding
This interactive workshop will introduce participants to the array of research , service , and career development opportunities available to them as students and recent graduates ; dispel commonly-held beliefs about the " type " of people who are most competitive for these opportunities ; and clear space for Sorors to develop personalized plans for furthering their education through national and global fellowships . And through sharing her own journey to date , the presenter will encourage participants to embrace their own qualifications and confidently opt into rigorous ( yet deeply enriching ) fellowship application processes . It ' s time to have a conversation !
