COVID-19 Saftey Guidelines 88 th Central Regional Conference
• COVID-19 safety guidelines will be enforced in compliance with guidance from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention ( CDC ), City of Chicago Department of Public Health , Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority , Incorporated ® Risk Mitigation Plan and Hyatt Regency Chicago Hotel .
• All Sorors , vendors and other individuals attending the conference , must show proof of being fully vaccinated to participate in conference meetings , events and activities that are held in person . No exemptions or exceptions .
• All Sorors , vendors and other individuals attending the conference will be subject to a temperature check at registration and during the conference .
• Per City of Chicago COVID-19 ordinance , individuals who are age two or older and able to medically tolerate a mask must wear a mask indoors in any public place . Thus , appropriate masking is required for all events .
• Masks ( paper , fabric or cloth filter ) must be appropriately worn always covering the nose and mouth while in the hotel . Valved and Gator masks are not allowed .
• Sorors unable to be vaccinated and wear masks will be excluded from participation in the 88 th Central Regional Conference . No exemptions or exceptions allowed for masking .
• Per City of Chicago COVID-19 ordinance , any individual 5 years of age or older must show proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to dine indoors , visit gyms , or enjoy entertainment venues where food or drink are being served .
• All sorors will be expected to maintain social distancing and limit physical contact and practice good hand-hygiene .
• Influenza ( seasonal flu ) vaccination is strongly recommended .
• Additional requirements may be imposed based upon the current status of COVID-19 and will be communicated via eblasts .
• Registration will be cancelled for sorors who register and are not vaccinated .
