NUMBER 5
Loss of Biodiversity
Eleni D.-Greece
Biodiversity loss is the extinction of species
(plant or animal) worldwide. Due to climate
change, deforestation, overhunting, overfishing
and pollution species go extinct. In Europe there
are over 15.000 extinct species. Some of them
are: bees, birds, butterflies, dragonflies,
freshwater fishes, and so on.
Environmental pollution has become a great
concern to save our planet. We need to adopt
various measures to reduce environment
pollution. Some of them includes planting trees,
reducing the use of non-renewable resources,
proper disposal of wastes, etc. It is the
responsibility of every individual to save our
environment from getting polluted.
Solutions:
1. Education
2. Protection of species and habitats
3. Prevent overhunting and overfishing
4. Stop pollution

5. Government restrictions and policies
6. Stop deforestation
