Project Details
This Girl is a consultancy and membership platform run by women for women .
Committed to bringing women together in a community of industry sectors , professions and diversities and focusing on your health & wellbeing is at the core of everything we do .
This Girl approached the university to redevelop the message from the existing website so that it becomes a tool of delivery and engagement of wellbeing , consultancy and networking for women allowing the company to expand their networking group reflecting the vision and ethos of the company .
Project Outcome
The project started with a thorough literature review into gender stereotypes using the basic assumption that woman share similar experiences in the workplace and in selfemployment / entrepreneurship and want to share these and be supported by other women , meaning the project team were able to create a number of recommendations and implications for This Girl as we went through the literature review .
The project also went onto conduct a competitor analysis for similar businesses and an analysis of how they use their websites to articulate their company messages .

Torus Wellbeing Clinic
Project Details
Torus Wellbeing Clinic is a private health clinic that aims to offer holistic services to support individuals to regain or maintain their health and to foster wellbeing . The clinic had developed and piloted a new employee assistance programme to support good mental and physical health in the workplace , this product is a three-tier service which includes an online wellbeing portal .
Since the changing work environment in March 2020 due to Covid-19 , Torus Wellbeing have been evaluating how their services are delivered and would like to worked with the Smart Innovation Hub to create a possibility space for service delivery on a spectrum ‘ in person ’ to ‘ fully online .
Project Outcome
The recent pandemic mean that Torus Wellbeing Clinic have had to adapt they deliver their services and the ‘ return ’ to normality is not as straightforward or as quickly as we had expected meaning that some services will remain in an altered state , but this also gives an opportunity assess the benefits online delivery give and the constraints to make an informed decision about how these services could and should be delivered going forward .

Eureka Inventions
Project Details
Eureka Inventions Ltd hope to launch a new product to the UK market with the aim to make retained surgical swabs a ‘ never event ’. Retained Swabs are surgical swabs that have been left inside the body by mistake during surgery .
This product has been designed by the two company directors , both of whom are practicing consultants with a driving motivation to address the currently unmet patient needs of this persistent problem by developing a novel device that ensures a correct count of swabs in an objective and fail-safe manner .
Project Outcome
This project used Systems Theory and Safety Critical Systems to understand how errors occur and review the psychology behind human error before moving onto to a value proposition canvas to help the company to articulate their value to different stakeholders .
