Student Consulting
During their studies , KBS Postgraduate students undertake one of four pathway options : dissertation , student consulting , placement year , or entrepreneurship year . Student consulting provides the opportunity for students to work on live business problems , supported by an academic supervisor . Projects are found across the whole business community , including large , medium , and small businesses , charities , local councils , and Community Interest Companies . Consulting projects cover as many sectors as possible , whilst also considering alignment with the student ’ s degree discipline . To date , around 600 interventions have been achieved . The following images demonstrate a small number of project examples .

Staffordshire Choirs Association

Project Details
Staffordshire Choir Association is a small organisation providing community choirs to the local area within Staffordshire but also coaching and music therapy sessions in the community , workplaces , care homes and in prisons . Throughout the COVID period some of the services have successfully transferred online and thrived despites the challenges .
The company is ready to grow and required assistance in the design of a recruitment process including advertising , recruitment , onboarding and evaluation for paid employees , freelancers and volunteers .
Project Outcome
This project started with a process flowchart for each type of worker in the business and an information pack for the business to understand the differences and their legal obligations . The project then went on to produce a volunteer policy , a worker information pack , advert templates , workplace survey , agreements and employee / volunteer / freelancer journey .

Zen Buddy
Project Details
The rising agenda of mental health and wellbeing , particularly in the current home working situation has provided an opportunity for companies such as Zen Buddy to help organisations make a positive impact for their employees .
Zen buddy has launched an app and the aim is to supply this into companies so that they can deploy this within their workforce and have created a protocol for apply a White labelling process . To develop this further the company need help with completed a full costing model and recommendations on how they should price this service .
Project Outcome
This project started with an investigation into pricing models and possible pathways for the company before producing a fully costed process map for the company including activity in each stage and additional services that could add value to the client .

Project Details
A 6th generation family-owned farming company specializing in growing carrots & parsnips . We sell into retail , wholesale & the foodservice sector . The industry in which I work is extremely competitive , following a refresh of the management team we are looking for ways to strengthen the company and drive growth .
This project was to focus on the development for our branding , incorporating the history and heritage of our company and recommending ways to creatively share that message through appropriate marketing channels .
Project Outcome
This project started with an investigation into marketing for heritage businesses and used that to create a branding audit for the company benchmarking it against competitors .
The project then created a marketing strategy and campaign with examples , templates for future use and guidance documents for the company to use and instructions for staff members .
