Castleford Tigers 14-10 Salford Red Devils

Castleford Tigers beat Salford Red Devils with a last minute try from Jake Webster.

Castleford Tigers got the game up and running with a try from Justin Carney who latched on to Liam Finn’s kick and Marc Sneyd added the conversion. This gave Castleford Tigers a 6-0 lead over Salford Red Devils and surprisingly this what the score remained at half time

Second half started and Castleford Tigers looked like the team to score going close a couple of times. On the 55th minutes Salford Red Devils had a chance to score, Niall Evalds – who is arguably filling in for Kevin Locke before he arrives skipped through the Castleford Tigers line but unfortunately Niall Evalds had no support from his Salford teammates and the chance was passed.

20 minutes to go and Castleford Tigers were awarded a penalty and kicker Marc Sneyd couldn’t resist having a go, Marc Sneyd kick was good and Castleford increased their lead by two points.

With just 15 minutes to go Salford Red Devils bounced back through a try from Junior Sa’u when

Justin Carney spilled the ball and the result of this allowed Junior Sa’u to score in the corner. 10 minutes later Salford scored again through a try from Gareth Hock when he barged his way over the line, this allowed Rangi Chase to add the conversion and give Salford a 10-8 lead.

With just seconds on the clock, Clark broke down the right and sent Jake Webster scoring over the line, on loan from Salford - Marc Sneyd added the conversion when the hooter went.
