On 4th May some brave souls set off on their Chinese built 125cc motorcycles, aiming to ride from Perth to Fort William, to raise funds for the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance based in Perth.

This seemingly ludicrous idea was the brainchild of Barry Walker who somehow managed to rope me in as well! The plan was to buy and make roadworthy a Chinese made 125cc motorcycle for under £300 then ride it from Perth to Fort William whilst raising funds for the SCAA.

There were 9 brave riders on 125's and several larger bikes as outriders (including myself). We also had several back up vehicles with a massive support crew just in case.

Our route was to take us from Broxden Park and ride to Fort William McDonald’s car park with several pit stops en route.

We gathered a few looks/waves/toots on the way especially Les and Daryl on the Monkey bike and Grom respectively. We also had a Lexmoto Vixen duel which caused much hilarity as both riders are quite tall and decided to sit on the back of the seats to gain some much needed aerodynamics.

We also had a very new rider with us, Elizabeth, who had just passed her CBT the week before which was a big deal considering the roads we were on.

Our first mishap was a wayward exhaust which randomly flew off before we had even left Perth and caused use of excessive avoidance skills on behalf of some riders!!
